Funny girls

They sure grow up fast, don't they? This is my three-year-old acting like she's all that and ready for some joyriding around town. Should I be worried? I bet some of you are wondering what she's listening to in her headphones. Nothing. I think she just likes the look of them or maybe the way they feel? She likes it when things squeeze her face. Funny girl.

My other funny girl has recently discovered her toes. Good thing she's flexible and can reach those things up to her mouth because she sure seems to enjoy them. I think she's been trying to let me know that she's ready to try solid foods. I'll catch her staring at me and my food in a sort of longing-for-whatever-that-thing-is-you-keep-putting-in-your-mouth sort of way. Or she'll follow my granola bar with her eyes as I wave it around while I eat and talk...stuff like that. Today at her 4 month appointment the doctor gave us the go ahead and so she got her first taste of rice cereal. She didn't seem to LOVE it, but I think she'll come around. And then next will be all the yummy fruits and vegetables and then those delicious desserts. Don't know if we'll do those nasty jarred meats. Quincy didn't like those at all. Can't say I blame her. We'll see how Marley reacts to them. If she doesn't like them she can always go back to sucking on her meaty little toes.

Oh, and I have a funny dog. Some days (most days) I want to send this dog far far away. He drives me crazy. He is so needy in so many ways. Way to high maitenence for this family. And then he has that terrible bark, which isn't helping his case at all. But then every once in a while I catch him in a sweet moment and then I remember that he's really a good dog with a lot of pent up energy, which really isn't his fault, and he's just having a hard time expressing himself. (He sounds like a teenager...I guess in dog years he probably is a teenager...that explains it.) Anyway, I appreciate him being there for Quincy. Even though every time she approaches him he gets this slightly panicked look in his eye because he never knows what she's going to do to him, this time he stuck around and let her love on him a little. Thanks Puppy.
