5 months!

       I am 5 months old now and I have so much to share with everyone! It’s taken a while to send this email because mommy and I have been sick a lot this month. I had my first ear infection and then mom and I passed a cold back and forth between each other. Daddy managed to avoid the cold so far, but we’ll see if that lasts.

        On top of being sick, the doctor says that I also have 3 teeth trying to come in so I put everything in my mouth and drool all over everything. My favorite thing is to bite on mommy’s fingers.   Wonder how long before one breaks through?

       I’ve had 2 growth spurts this month as well. After my first one mommy “officially” moved me into my 3-6 month clothes, and then 2 weeks later she noticed that those same pants were now starting to be too short. About that time I was measured at a doctor appointment for my ear infection and I was 26 inches and 14.9lbs. Ten days later I went back for my shots and I was 27 ¼ inches and 15.4lbs! Now I wear a combination of 3-6 month clothes and 6-9 month pants.

      Despite the teething, being sick and growth spurts, I’ve had an exciting month. I took my first plane ride to San Diego and they even gave me a pair of wings. Mommy said she didn’t even know they still did that! Before we came home, I got to see the ocean for the first time. Mommy and Daddy got to see dolphins and a whale. Then daddy got my feet out of my outfit and I got to make footprints in the sand.

       Let’s see what else….I can roll over from both back to belly and back again. I also think it’s very cool to sit by myself and play with my toys. The doctor said that my motor skills are about 2 months ahead of schedule so I must have taken after daddy in my athletic ability. My favorite way to spend my time is in my Jumper chair and figuring out how to move around the house in my walker. Now if I could just figure out how to stop going backwards and start moving forward……
